One of the most challenging dynamics for me to respond to as a business owner is hearing other business owners cite all the external factors that prevent them from succeeding in achieving their goals.

PLEASE!!!

Certainly, the weather and the economy have some impact on all our businesses. However, the amount of energy most business owners place on these and other external factors is far greater than their reality.

After all, I come from the pond is half full camp that ascribes to the motto…

“Life’s 10% about what happens to you, and 90% what you do about it!”

Agreed?!

Based on my 25 years’ experience in business anyway, sadly, most people would disagree with that way of thinking. More people than not choose to put way more energy on the external factors impacting their outcome, rather than focusing on internally what they can do to create their own destiny.

With your own business experience, would you agree or disagree with my observation regarding this?

With the external factor of who’s going to be running our country taking center stage (God save us from ourselves…Egads!) I want to make one thing perfectly clear. Energy spent debating or worrying on who’s going to be in office, or what party is going to be handed the reigns to our government, won’t be the end all be all on selling ponds!

PLEASE!!!

I’d prefer the more business friendly party to win just as much as I’d love spring to hit in March and not May! Regardless of what happens though, 90 plus percent of my success will be determined not by what happens to me, but rather what I can make happen through my efforts and indeed mindset.

Do you feel the same way? If so you’re in the minority!

Leading the Change, by definition, isn’t for people who prefer that status quo. I’m not mincing words here and I don’t mince actions running Aquascape!

NEVER in the 25 years I have been riding this roller coaster of operating a business have I seen a greater discrepancy than currently exists between external thinkers and internal doers.

CAC’s as a whole are killing it with waterfeatures! The majority of external thinking contractors, retailers and even Distributors who service these guys, see the pond as half empty today.

“People can’t afford luxury items like water features anymore”

“Demand for water features has dried up”

“Nobody wants a pond anymore, they require too much work”

PLEASE!!!

The saddest thing of this external thinking is those who think it get the chance to prove themselves right every day!

Leading the Change starts here. Internal thinkers are uniting in this Tribe to prove them wrong every day!

How flipping awesome is that?!

I want more CAC’s in this Tribe! I want people to succeed! It’s the cornerstone of our business model.

You internal doers are killing it!

Now let’s lead the Change externally to the rest of the industry that desperately needs to be inspired by our example!

Carpe Diem
